Bucks County artist Elizabeth Zack is an Impressionistic artist with an abstract flair, interplaying a full spectrum of color and light creating an ethereal effect. Her art is less about the subject than the emotions the subject evokes. Her paintings are generally nature scenes where she draws her inspiration from. What she feels she puts on canvas.
Elizabeth’s journey started out as a classical oil painter and then evolved from there. She first studied with classical painter, Dot Bunn getting a solid foundation, learning color palette to mechanics of design in oil painting techniques. Then she studied plein air practicing principles of illusionistic painting utilizing the wipe-out method and Linear Perspective with Patrick Connors, instructor at Studio Incamminati. She went on to study with Emily Thompson, experimenting with abstract art. Finally, she studied with Ty Hodanish an Impressionistic artist. Ultimately she settled on Impressionism which allowed her to be inspirational and yet portray nature. It is through experimentation of painting in different styles that Elizabeth has developed her own unique style. Elizabeth has a special gift of bringing luminous color into her work giving great beauty and distinctiveness.
She is a member of the New Hope Art League, Chairwoman of the Scholarship Committee, a member of Artsbridge Art League and Philadelphia Sketch Club. Elizabeth has facilitated the Art Expression Day of “Empower U” program for teenage girls at the Central Bucks Family YMCA. She has also given other Art Expression Workshops for adults.
